Dr. Buchowski's clinical interests include: metatastic spine disease and tumors of the spine; degenerative disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine; spine trauma; and minimally invasive spine surgery.
Research Interests
Dr. Buchowski's research interests include: clinical outcomes following spinal reconstructive surgery, spine biomechanics, and basic science applications (such as gene therapy) to disorders of the spine.
Background
Dr. Buchowski earned his bachelors and masters of science degree from Yale University and his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he served as administrative chief resident at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was fellowship trained in adult and pediatric spine surgery at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Buchowski specializes in reconstructive spinal surgery with emphasis on spinal tumors and degenerative disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine and minimally invasive spine surgery. His clinical interests also include spine trauma.
