Dr. Hollabaugh provides nonoperative care for all musculoskeletal sports-related conditions in pediatric and adolescent patients. Dr. Hollabaugh also specializes in providing a wide array of diagnostic and procedural musculoskeletal ultrasounds in patients of all ages. As a St. Louis native, he’s thrilled to be back in the area, helping athletes quickly and safely return to sports.

Dr. Hollabaugh has research interests in lower extremity muscle (hamstring, quadriceps) strains, spondylolysis/spondylolisthesis and Vitamin D status in athletes.

Background

Dr. Hollabaugh is from St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Marquette University for undergraduate studies and then received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed pediatrics residency at Vanderbilt University, and a two-year fellowship in pediatric and adult primary care sports medicine at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Hollabaugh served as an Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University in the Department of Orthopaedics, Divisions of Sports Medicine and Pediatric Orthopaedics. During his time at Vanderbilt, he participated in the medical education of medical students, residents and fellows, and published research articles on topics including lower extremity muscle (hamstring, quadriceps) strains, spondylolysis/spondylolisthesis, vitamin D status in athletes, cardiovascular disease in athletes, thoracic outlet syndrome, orthobiologics and Name, Image and Likeness policy.

Dr. Hollabaugh has a vast amount of experience in team care, providing sports medicine coverage for middle school, high school, NCAA, professional, national and international level athletics, including United States Figure skating, United States Women’s Soccer, Nashville Soccer Club (MLS) and the Special Olympics Tennessee. He previously served as a team physician for the Nashville Predators (NHL), Vanderbilt University (NCAA DI), Nashville Sounds Baseball (Milwaukee Brewers AAA affiliate) and Steeplechase.
