Outpatient Experience

Pediatric and adolescent orthopedic fellows at Washington University will participate in outpatient clinics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children–St. Louis, and St. Louis Children's Hospital Specialty Care Center. In 2022, our practice saw over 47,000 pediatric orthopedic outpatient visits in total. Fellows are involved in preoperative evaluation, non-operative care, and follow-up care of children with a variety of pediatric orthopedic conditions.

Our busy clubfoot and vertical talus clinics will provide a unique opportunity for the fellows to obtain the skills necessary for non-operative management of those conditions. Participation in multi-disciplinary clinics for children with cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, arthrogryposis, and limb deformity will provide unique experience in providing care for children with chronic medical conditions in a multi-disciplinary setting.
