Hand specialist Christopher Dy, MD, MPH, FACS, was awarded the 2019 Richard H. Gelberman Scholar Award at the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) annual meeting in Las Vegas. This award recognizes young hand surgeons in the early stages of their career who demonstrate excellence in patient care, research and education. The award supports national and/or international travel as a stimulus to propel a young surgeon to greater achievement in the field of hand surgery on both a national and international stage.
Dr. Dy specializes in brachial plexus and complex nerve injuries, and has received multiple research grants in these areas of expertise.
As a Gelberman scholar, Dr. Dy will be traveling to the Mayo Clinic, University of Michigan, Florianopolis Brazil, Mexico City, and London to learn from international experts in brachial plexus surgery and clinical research.
