Acromioclavicular Joint
The acromioclavicular (AC) joint is located between the collarbone and the shoulder blade at the top of your shoulder. There is very little motion at the joint. Rather, it is a strong junction between these two bones held together by very strong ligaments. This joint can develop painful arthritis that is often associated with rotator cuff disease. If this joint is painful, then we address this problem as well. Not everyone with a rotator cuff tear requires surgery on their AC joint, so this will be a discussion between you and your surgeon.
