Last week, the 2018 Knee Society annual meeting was held in St. Louis at the Four Seasons Hotel. This year’s meeting is especially momentous, with it being the 35th anniversary meeting and also the first time the society has traveled to St. Louis. The meeting began was held September 20-22, and included a variety of academic lectures on knee arthroplasty from Knee Society members.
Washington University Orthopedics’ presence is significant within the Knee Society, with Robert L. Barrack, MD, the Charles F. and Joanne Knight Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, serving as the Knee Society president. Ryan M. Nunley, MD, Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, also serves as Education Committee Chair on the Knee Society’s Executive Board.
About the Knee Society
The Knee Society was founded in 1983 by a small group of elite orthopedic surgeons. The goals of the Knee Society are to “advance the knowledge of the knee joint in health and disease, provide an appropriate educational setting that will maintain the highest level of professional standards in order to promote continuous advancement in professional knowledge and improved treatment of disorders of the knee, create an optimum environment to enhance education, research and treatment of arthritis of the knee joint, and to promote and maintain professional standards to provide the best care to patients with arthritic disorders of the knee joint.”
