Meet Makayla Studt

Medical Assistant

Where are you from?

Arnold, MO. I went to Seckman High School for my freshman and sophomore years, then Fox High School for my junior and senior year. Graduated from Fox in 2016.

What brought you to WashU Medicine Orthopedics?

I started my journey with WashU under the department of medicine at the Center for Advanced Medicine in South County, after almost a year there I decided to see what else WashU had to offer. I then found my way into the PM&R group here within the orthopedic surgery department. I have never been happier; Dr. Tang has welcomed me in with open arms. This department is like no other, I am so grateful for the opportunity to work alongside some of these amazing providers.

How do you support the department?

I am Dr. Chi-Tsai Tang's Medical Assistant.

What aspect of your work do you find most interesting and rewarding?

Helping people has always been so rewarding to me, but learning all of the new orthopedic terms has been very interesting to say the least. I learn something new every day.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Spend time with my two kids (Jhace 9 & Averie 6).

What's the best advice you ever received?

Set your goals high and don’t stop till you get there. or "Just DO IT"- my dad swears he trademarked this before Nike.

If you weren't in healthcare, what would you like to be doing?

When I was little, I dreamed of being a vet. When I got older and realized how long I would have to go to college for, and I quickly changed my mind.

Anything else you'd like to share?

I played soccer for 12 years and love to travel.
