Meet Jenny Plassmeyer
Patient and Billing Services Representative
Where are you from?
I am from the St. Louis area.
What brought you to Washington University Orthopedics?
I followed a dear friend of mine, Diane Becker, to a front desk position at the Chesterfield location 10 years ago and I am now mainly at the Living Well Center and Joint and Spine Center at Barnes-Jewish West County. I feel so lucky to be surrounded with people that I love to work with.
What aspect of your work do you find most interesting and rewarding?
I enjoy talking with patients and love to brighten their day-hopefully getting them to smile or laugh. I love to decorate the office for the seasons by creating scenes out of unexpected items and my favorite thing is when someone asks how our decorations are made so they can try it themselves! I think that living with a creative spirit sparks joy!
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I always have a project going-either a mural or art decoration project (my husband has finally learned to accept my on-going projects and their messes. I have six kids, two grandkids, and another one on the way! I have two dogs and a garden (which I am not that great at yet)!
What is the best advice you have ever received?
The greatest advice I ever received can pretty much be summed up in this picture of a to-do list that I found somewhere along the way. I have this printed out at work and practice this everyday!
