Meet Linda Green
Administrative Coordinator
Where are you from?
I’m from St. Louis, MO. I live in Manchester, MO, and love the variety of stores, parks, and fun activities in the area.
What brought you to Washington University Orthopedics?
Before joining the Department of Orthopedics, I worked in Pain Management at Washington University as a Patient Service Representative for almost 5 years. I was searching for an opportunity for advancement and I came across an opening for an Administrative Coordinator, in the Department of Orthopedics. I decided to take a shot and thankfully, I made the cut. I have been with the department for over a year.
How do you support the department?
My role is to provide administrative support to four physicians. As an Administrative Coordinator, you are the point of contact for your MDs. This role requires you to be extremely organized in order to be successful.
What's your favorite part about working with the group of physicians and staff that you work with?
My favorite part about working with is group is that everyone is kind and easygoing; they make my job very enjoyable.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
One of my favorite things to do outside of work is travel. I love visiting different cities and countries and learning about their culture. But, more than anything I enjoy sending quality time with family and friends.
What's the best advice you ever received?
The best advice I was ever given is to “always be kind to others, you never know what people are going through.” I love this advice because we can use our natural superpower to make someone’s day a little brighter, just by showing a simple act of kindness.
If you weren't in health care, what would you like to be doing?
If I wasn’t in healthcare, I would probably be working for a nonprofit organization that is meaningful to me. I enjoy helping others and giving back to the community.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I have two beautiful daughters, a 15 year old and 21 month old (crazy, right?) they keep me young and make life more meaningful.
