Meet Farrah Hupp

Assistant Administrator of Health Information

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Coconut Creek, Florida and I now live in Edwardsville, Illinois.

What brought you to Washington University Orthopedics?

I’ve been with Washington University for almost 7 years. In this Health Information Management position I can focus more on career growth in the area I enjoy the most – managing and helping users with Epic.

How do you support the department?

I’m an Assistant Administrator of Health Information Management and will also be training new employees on how to utilize Epic to the fullest. I’m also the HIPAA liaison for the department.

What aspect of your work are you most looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to getting to know all the staff and faculty in every specialty. Orthopedics is a big department with many locations, so I know it will take time to fully understand all there is to know about this specialty. I’m excited every day to learn new things and meet new people!

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Outside of work I love to do anything outdoors – hiking, camping, and kayaking with my family.

What’s the best advice you ever received?

The best advice that I received was to embrace change.

If you weren't in health care, what would you like to be doing?

If I wasn’t in healthcare I would probably be in interior design, I love working on house projects!

Anything else you’d like to share?

I recently got married during the first year of the pandemic in what turned out to be the perfect setting – our backyard on a beautiful day, with just a few loved ones, including our three teenagers. Together we have three teenagers, Evan, Vyla, and Henry. Our fourth child is Charlie (a golden lab), who I spoil more than the three teens put together, my husband says.
