Meet Arit Asebioyo, BSN, MA
Nurse Manager, MSK Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Arit is one of the newest WashU Ortho team members, and brings enthusiasm and fresh perspectives for our physiatry practice. Welcome, Arit!
What is your title and where is your office?
I am the new nurse manager for physical medicine and rehabilitation (MSK), and my office base is at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in MOB4.
Where are you from?
I am originally from Nigeria, but I have been living in the United States for 20 years now. My name, Arit Asebioyo, is pronounced AH-rit, AH-SHAY-be-aw-yaw.
What brought you to Washington University Orthopedics?
I came from WashU School of Medicine, Medical Oncology, where I was nurse coordinator. Prior to that experience, I was nurse manager at Anthem.
What are you looking forward to most in your new role?
I serve as a support for the medical staff (medical assistants, nurses, providers). I am really looking forward to working with and learning from everyone, accepting new challenges and growing.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I like to cook spicy foods and sing gospel songs. I am married with two adorable "little humans," as I like to call them. We enjoy traveling and spending time together as a family.
If you weren’t in health care, what would you like to be doing?
A writer, singer or running a non-profit for underserved kids and their families full-time. I currently run an NGO called "Give Back Naija," and our mission is to give back to the less privileged in Nigeria.
You can catch Arit at MOB4, Suite 110, on the BJWCH campus. Welcome, Arit!
