Meet Natalie Fallert

Athletic Trainer for Dr. Brophy

Where are you from?

I grew up in Ste. Gen and now I live in Arnold. After college I moved to Louisiana for grad school for two years and then wanted to experience Texas sports/football as an athletic trainer. I ended up getting accepted into an athletic training residency program in Houston, and then decided to stay in the area. I worked at a high school in Katy, Texas, for two more years as an athletic trainer and teaching a health class.

What brought you to Washington University Orthopedics?

I was wanting to move back to the STL area after working in Texas and heard great things about WashU!

What aspect of your work do you find most interesting or rewarding?

Seeing an athlete recover from an injury and getting the all clear to return to their sport.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Playing sand volleyball.

What’s the best advice you ever received?

My dad tells me every time I leave the house, "stay out of the newspaper/police blotter," but my family has always told me to "follow my dreams and go after what I want." The latter has given me a lot of cool experiences in my life.

If you weren’t in health care, what would you like to be doing?

Probably teaching and coaching at a high school. As far as what I would teach, anatomy would be cool..getting to dissect things!

Anything else you’d like to share?

I have a 4yo beagle, Lucy, a 3yo niece (Sawyer), and 2yo nephew (William). They are my world and I enjoy spending any free time with them. I am also about to head to Florida to play in a big sand volleyball tournament.
