Meet Trina Jones
Call Center Billing/Scheduling Associate III
Call center representatives are often a patient's first impression of Washington University Orthopedics, and we're proud of our team! Our schedulers are compassionate and attentive advocates for our patients, and Trina is no exception.
Trina celebrates her 25th year with Washington University in May 2021, and most of that time has been with the Department of Orthopedics. Kathy Bradley, patient services administrator of the call center, says:
"Trina is always kind and caring, and never appears to be rattled. She looks for ways to brighten the day for all of her co-workers. She frequently sends uplifting emails to her coworkers and finds time to decorate the office for the holidays and every season. Trina never misses a beat and come rain or shine, we can count on Trina to be here for her team and our patients. She is such a pleasure to work with and we are truly fortunate to have her on our team."

Where are you from?
I was born and raised right here in Saint Louis, MO. Everything is fun and special here. You can take a staycation in your hometown and do just about everything.
What brought you to Washington University?
I applied to Washington University back in 1996, but nothing was available at that time. They informed me if anything became available they would let me know. I was working at Boatman’s Bank when I got a call from WashU in 1997. The rest is history! I said “YES to the Dress” so-to-speak..."Goodbye, Boatman’s Bank" and "Hello" to Washington University. I started with the university that May and switched to the department of orthopedics in 2006. How time flies when you are having fun!
What aspect of your job do you find most interesting or rewarding?
As a teen I was a candy striper at the old Deaconess Hospital, where I was introduced to orthopedics and physical therapy. The "one-stop shopping" for a patient who needed orthopedic treatment was such a convenience for them. I knew patients experience that here and it sounded amazing to me to be able to assist someone with just coming to Washington University Orthopedics.
Being able to be a service to our department, our doctors and advanced-practice nurses/providers, management/supervisors and my awesome coworkers is very rewarding We have a wide variety of things we do in the call center, which makes the time fly.
What’s the best advice you ever received?
My grandmother told me, "Keep living. You will learn something new every day."
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I love traveling and finding new and different things to experience with my family and friends. We are all over the map! A few weeks ago, we went to Springfield, MO, and visited the Bass Pro Shop Worlds of Wonder aquarium. I recently tried my hand at axe throwing, and my family and I have done the smash/rage rooms experience as well. I love finding and trying new restaurants, and will "Google and go" as far as planning activities. We're planning a trip to Pigeon Forge, TN, this fall, and then tentatively an Alaskan cruise in May of 2022...as long as Covid lets us!
You can catch Trina at the call center on the Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital campus. Thank you for all you do, Trina!
