Dr. Clohisy is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon specializing in the comprehensive treatment of spinal disorders. He has particular interest in cervical spine surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preservation (non-fusion) surgery, robotics and computer navigation.
Dr. Clohisy completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Washington University in St. Louis and fellowship training in spine surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY. During residency and fellowship, Dr. Clohisy trained in both traditional open and cutting-edge minimally invasive techniques including computer-guided navigation and robotic spine surgery.
Dr. Clohisy is passionate about improving patient experience and outcomes through clinical excellence, education, and research. He has received research and academic grants and has several peer-reviewed scientific articles, book chapters, lectures, podium presentations, and poster presentations.
Dr. Clohisy is dedicated to patient-centered care. He seeks to understand each patient’s story, how their spine problems affect their lives, and their goals for treatment. Dr. Clohisy and his patients develop tailored solutions to their unique problems to get each patient back to doing what they love as quickly as possible. He believes in a multidisciplinary approach and encourages his patients to exhaust nonoperative treatments whenever possible before considering surgery.
