Dr. Lawrie specializes in total hip and knee replacement surgery, anterior hip replacement, partial knee replacement, hip resurfacing, revision of failed hip and knee replacements, abductor tendon tears, early arthritic hip and knee joint problems.

Research Interests

Dr. Lawrie has research interests in hip and knee arthroplasty in young, active adults, anterior approach hip replacement, cementless total knee arthroplasty, image-guided and computer assisted surgery, and biomechanics of the hip and knee joint.


Dr. Lawrie earned a medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. After medical school, Dr. Lawrie was selected for orthopaedic residency training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fl, where he participated in sports team coverage for the University of Miami Hurricanes Baseball team, the Sheck Hillel Community High School Football team, and the ASA College Silver Storm sports teams. He then completed a Joint Preservation, Resurfacing and Replacement Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, and an additional Trauma Fellowship at the University Hospital Zurich, in Zurich, Switzerland.
