Regis O'Keefe, MD, PhD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Washington University Orthopedics, the department of orthopedic surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. His clinical interests includemusculoskeletal oncology and adult reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee.

He serves as the chairman of the university's department of orthopedic surgery, where he also pursues research related to cartilage, skeletal development and inflammatory bone diseases. Prior to joining the Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. O'Keefe served as chairman of the department of orthopedics and rehabilitation at University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York. He holds memberships with American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Association and American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, among other professional societies.

 

Dr. O'Keefe earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He went on to perform an orthopedic surgery residency at New York-based University of Rochester Medical Center two fellowships: a research fellowship at University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and an orthopedic oncology fellowship at Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital.
