Meet Cody Stubblefield
Athletic Trainer
Where are you from?
I am from Nashville, TN. It has developed quite the reputation as being a fun city and has changed much over the past 10 or so years since I have been gone.
What brought you to Washington University Orthopedics?
My wife and I moved up to the St. Louis area last year after becoming pregnant to live closer to her family. After working many years in the secondary school athletic setting, I wanted to transition into the clinical setting and was excited for the opportunities presented by WashU.
How do you support the department?
After working in pediatrics for the past year and a half, I just recently started working in the foot and ankle division as Dr. Thome's athletic trainer.
What aspect of your work do you find most interesting and rewarding?
I thoroughly enjoy working with patients and trying to make a difference in the care they receive. I love learning new things and am excited to take a deeper dive into the world of foot and ankle.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy being in the outdoors and spending time with my wife and one year old son.
What's the best advice you ever received?
Work smarter, not harder.
Anything else you'd like to share?
I enjoy many hobbies and activities including hunting, hiking, video gaming, 3D printing, and watching movies with my wife.
