Meet Megen Meyer
Project and Program Coordinator
Where are you from?
I am from Festus, MO but currently reside in Millstadt, IL.
What brought you to Washington University Orthopedics?
I have always wanted to work for Washington University. When I saw the job opportunity in orthopedics, I could not pass up on the chance to apply. I have worked in various jobs in orthopedics for different companies, but I will say, this department is the best place I have worked!
How do you support the department?
I support the business office in all upcoming and current projects, posting faculty recruitments on various sites, reporting and WorkDay position management, and managing non-appointee processes.
What aspect of your work do you find most interesting or rewarding?
The aspect that I find the most rewarding is being able to help people on a daily basis and getting to know my coworkers. I have met so many incredible people who work in our department, and I've also made some great friends.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I like taking adventures with my husband. One of our favorite things to do is taking our side-by-side out and trail riding, or taking the top and doors off our Jeep and going for a drive. I also enjoy reading books...thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited because last month I read 23 books!
What's the best advice you ever received?
Don’t judge a book by its cover and to never underestimate yourself.
If you weren't in health care, what would you like to be doing?
I would be a teacher.
Anything else you’d like to share?
My husband and I recently celebrated two years of marriage, we have a golden retriever, and we are planning a vacation next spring to either the Upper Peninsula of Michigan or to South Dakota to go riding.
