Meet Jim Robison, MBA
Director, Business Operations

Jim joins WashU Ortho on Monday, January 24, and will work with Rachel Flannery, Rachel Froelich, and the entire business office. Welcome, Jim!

Where are you from?

I am from St. Louis. Raised in Washington, MO, and still a member of the community today. My family and I love the area as it has many of the amenities of a larger city but the ability for us to spread out on a large piece of property.

What are you looking forward to most in your new role?

I am thrilled to be joining such a successful department that is a leader in its specialty. I want to use my business, finance and accounting experience to support its mission of excellence in clinical care, education, research and leadership. I am looking forward to being a part of such an accomplished group, learning, fostering new relationships and continuing my career at such a wonderful institution.

What’s the best advice you ever received?

I have had a great upbringing with many fantastic mentors along the way in my personal and professional life. The lessons and wisdom shared that have stuck with me most are to have a great work ethic, treat others fairly, listen and lead by example. Using this advice has helped me be a better professional and person.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Outside of work my favorite thing to do is be with my family and friends. I love being outdoors and some of my preferred activities include relaxing at the lake, golfing, riding off-road motorcycles and ATV’s and spending time with the kids in the pool or doing activities on the property. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Sharee, and we have two beautiful daughters, Ella (7) and Everly (4). We also have a 10 year old Himalayan cat that is truly part of the family and who the kids adore.

If you weren’t in health care, what would you like to be doing?

While not directly in a patient-facing role, supporting the team that provides remarkable clinical care is the next best thing. The clinical care and research that is done at the university is truly amazing and I am proud to be a part of it. If I wasn’t supporting healthcare, a position in a major league baseball analytics department would be fun as I enjoy the statistics in the sport.

When on campus, you can find Jim at the MCC, suite 9300. Welcome, Jim!
