Farshid Guilak, PhD, received a $2.6 million dollar grant from the National Institutes of Health to continue a 25-year study on the environmental and genetic risk factors for osteoarthritis (OA) in a population more likely to be at risk for OA. The goal of his research is to use human adult stem cells to create personalized articular cartilage for the discovery of new OA treatments.
