Meet Stacy Duff

Medical Assistant

Where are you from?

I was born and raised just South of St. Louis, in Arnold. I actually still live in the area.

What brought you to Washington University Orthopedics?

Interestingly enough, a friend was leaving her position with the Foot/Ankle team and I was interested in a change of employment and had been interested in Orthopedics since I was a teen, when I broke my ankle, so it was the perfect opportunity!

How do you support the department?

I am a Medical Assistant with the Foot/Ankle team, supporting Nurse Practitioner Michele Mueller.

What aspect of your work do you find most interesting or rewarding?

I love being able to assist patients in getting better. Getting to know the patients can be very rewarding as well.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

My family owns property just outside of Hermann so we love to get up there as often as possible and enjoy the outdoors and four wheel around the property.

What’s the best advice you ever received?

One of my uncle’s favorite songs was, “Que Sera Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be).” I’ve tried to remember this in all aspects and try not to take life too seriously.

If you weren’t in health care, what would you like to be doing?

I have always been interested in photography. I wouldn’t mind traveling the world taking photos.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I am a ‘Boy Mom’ of two. We took a family vacation to Virginia Beach this summer to visit family and they got to fly on a plane for the first time!
