St. Louis, Nov. 8, 2017
— Washington University Orthopedics is opening its 8th St. Louis-area location at Progress West Hospital in O’Fallon, MO. The physicians at the new location will offer diagnosis and treatment for general orthopedics, with a particular focus on pediatric patients.

The new location provides patients in St. Charles County with a new option for orthopedic treatment. Mark Halstead, MD, an associate professor of orthopedics and of pediatrics and a national leader in pediatric orthopedics, sports medicine and concussion care, is medical director of the clinic.

As our department at Washington University has grown, we have worked to offer our services to patients from all over the region,” Halstead said. “We will offer general pediatric services and also take care of adults who have aches and injuries, offering on-site imaging, splinting and casting. We also will provide sports concussion care for kids and adolescents.”

Halstead also directs the Washington University Sports Concussion Program and is medical director of the Young Athlete Center at the St. Louis Children’s Specialty Care Center.

In addition to general orthopedic and concussion care, the clinic will offer treatment for scoliosis, adolescent and young adult hip disorders, upper extremity abnormalities and limb length discrepancies.

The new orthopedic clinic joins other clinical locations at the Center for Advanced Medicine on the Washington University Medical Campus, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, Center for Advanced Medicine-South County, Washington University Outpatient Orthopedic Center in Chesterfield, St. Louis Children’s Specialty Care Center in West County, and Shriners Hospital for Children. The clinic at Progress West will begin operating on Nov. 15.
