Meet Kim Rayborn

Medical Records Clerk

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. I like to go try the different restaurant we have here and visit the St. Louis Zoo.

What brought you to Washington University Orthopedics?

After working for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, I decided I wanted to work for WashU. I was offered a position in orthopedics in 1999 and been with the department ever since.

How do you support the department?

With 25 years of dedication to the department, my vast amount of knowledge in medical records helps the team out in every way.

What aspect of your work do you find most interesting and rewarding?

With so many different types of documents coming in to our office, it is still interesting and exciting to learn what each provider is needing for each specialty.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I like to spend time with family and friends, going shopping and to the movies or dinner. I love to travel. I plan to travel to Cancun this July, for my daughter’s 30th birthday.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Accept yourself, love yourself, and keep pushing forward through the good and the bad times.

If you weren't in healthcare, what would you like to be doing?

If I wasn’t in health care, I would love to become a fashion designer.
