Meet Sacreta Pollard

Medical Assistant

Where are you from?

Born and raised right here in St. Louis, MO; The Ville Neighborhood. I don’t know where to start with all the fun things you can do here. My favorite place to go is Grant’s Farm.

What brought you to Washington University Orthopedics?

A friend recommended I come here, plus I was attracted to Washington University’s reputation and institution. I’m still here 22 years later.

How do you support the department?

I’m the Medical Assistant to Dr. Keith Bridwell and Dr. Matthew Goodwin.

What aspect of your work do you find most interesting or rewarding?

It’s something about the post-op patients. Before surgery they are in so much pain. It’s rewarding to see them pain free after surgery.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Shopping, shopping and more shopping! Plus, I like to relax and look at big bodies of water.

What's the best advice you ever received?

People may not always remember what you say, but they will always remember how you made them feel. Always be mindful of how you treat people.

If you weren't in health care, what would you like to be doing?

I would probably be in fashion/make up. I love putting different “looks” together and making people feel beautiful and confident.

Anything else you'd like to share?

I have an 8 month old grandson, Andre, that is the light of my life! He my very first grandchild and this is a different kind of love. He has totally changed my life for the better and I’m ALWAYS bragging on him.  His smile makes my heart smile and I love him for that. He can have ANYTHING he wants from me but he will not call me Nana, Granny or Grandma….He’s going to call me Honey.
