Commonly Treated Conditions

Treatment Approach

We strongly believe in treating patients in the most optimal setting. In collaboration with Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Progress West Hospital, we have the ability to offer comprehensive services through either inpatient (hospital-based) or outpatient care at numerous locations across the St. Louis area. The vast majority of surgical procedures for hand and wrist problems are performed on an outpatient basis.

Replantation surgery, total joint replacement of the wrist and hand, flap coverage for soft tissue loss, and surgery to correct children’s deformities usually require a short stay in the hospital. Rehabilitation services are readily available in both inpatient and outpatient settings and focus on pain relief, mobility, and improved function.

Patient Stories

Jessica Hammack

Jessica Hammack - Cubital Tunnel Syndrome

Jessica was thrilled when she was recruited to play softball for Parkland College in Champaign, IL. However, daily practices began taking a toll on Jessica's hand and arm. She began to feel a snapping sensation near her elbow, and a numbness in her hand, causing it to become ice cold to the touch. She was diagnosed with cubital tunnel syndrome, and surgical treatment was recommended.
