Dale Colorado, DO, MPH, Serves as Physician for the National Veterans Wheelchair Games

Dale Colorado, DO, MPH, recently served as a physician for the 36th annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games held June 27 to July 2, in Salt Lake City, Utah. 616 wheelchair athletes from across the country competed in 19 events. He was one of eight physicians invited to provide medical coverage for the week-long event. This is his second year involved with the Wheelchair Games, and he looks forward to continued participation in the future. The Wheelchair Games will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2017.

Dr. Colorado says, "It is an honor to be involved in such a worthwhile event for our Veterans. The strength and determination displayed by each athlete, as well as the camaraderie among the athletes, is truly an inspiration."

In addition to providing medical coverage for the event, Dr. Colorado also served as a classifier, grouping athletes into specific competition categories based on their impairments.

Dr. Colorado is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, in the division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He specializes in sports medicine, interventional spine, and electrodiagnostic medicine.
