Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery and Post-Trauma Reconstruction
Management of fractures and complications related to fractures especially nonunions (unhealed fractures), malunions (incorrectly healed fractures), and osteomyelitis (bone infections).

Dr. Ricci has developed a national and international recognition as a leader in the field of orthopaedics. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles and over 50 book chapters, chaired multiple national and international orthopaedic trauma meetings and courses, and is an editor of the Textbook of Fractures in Adults. Dr. Ricci serves on the board of several scholarly jounals including the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and has served on the board of directors of major orthopaedic organizations including the American Orthopaedic Association and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
Dr. Ricci received his undergraduate degree in biomechanical engineering and his medical degree from Duke University. He completed residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery/New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York city. Dr. Ricci spent an additional year studying orthopaedic trauma as a fellow at Tampa General Hospital and the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. He then joined the Washington University Faculty in 1998.
