Orthopaedic trauma, post-traumatic reconstruction
Clinical Interests
Management of acute fractures of the arm, leg and pelvis, non-union of fractures, osteomyelitis, and post-traumatic reconstruction. Dr. Ricci has particular interest and expertise in treating; periarticular fractures including shoulder (proximal humerus) fractures, elbow fractures(distal humerus, olecranon, and radial head), hip fractures (acetabulum, femoral head and neck, intertrochanteric, and subtrochanteric), knee fractures (patella, distal femur, tibial plateau), and ankle and foot fractures (pilon and calcaneous); management of post-traumatic problems including nonunions, malunions, arthritis, and osteomyelitis; management of periprosthetic fractures adjacent to prior total hip and total knee replacements.
Research Interests
Clinical and biomechanical evaluation of new technologies for fracture treatment including locked plates, teleradiology, image guided surgery, and the use of bone graft substitutes to augment fracture healing.
Background
Dr. Ricci completed his fellowship training in Orthopaedic Trauma at Tampa General Hospital and the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. He completed residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, New York.
