Background
Dr. Scott Luhmann is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Luhmann’s practice is devoted to pediatric spinal surgery with an emphasis on complex reconstructive spinal surgery and treatment of various spinal deformities such as scoliosis. He operates weekly at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, St. Louis Shriner’s Hospital, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Dr. Luhmann earned his bachelors degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and his medical degree at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He completed his internship and residency at Washington University School of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery. Also while at Washington University, he did 2 separate fellowships: Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery, and Pediatric and Adult Orthopaedic Spinal Surgery. In 2000, Dr. Luhmann received Board Certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is an active member of professional societies including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Scoliosis Research Society, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, American Orthopaedic Association, and Mid-America Orthopaedic Society.
